Hello!
This weekend was Saturday's concert coming from England Melodic Hardcore on / punk band "Fights and Fires" and the Luxembourg Hardcore / Punk band "Self Control", and I was invited some time ago by my friend Patrick to , as his brother and his friends organized it. So I drove up yesterday to bursting with curiosity about the upcoming Musikfestmahl to Grevenmacher.
usually get no hardcore in my ears, unless hardcore strikes at "Mastodon", or similar metal bands, and yet I was very excited about the concert and expected an exciting Evening. In preparation I had already previewed some songs from "Fights and Fires" and wanted to extend through the concert and my musical horizons (and smother the thoughts of the upcoming French test with cultivated headbanging in the bud - nevertheless, I have eagerly learned this weekend leisure and obligations may very well go hand in hand!).
I spent a few hours at first said friends Patrick, excellent vegan waffles consumed with excellent vanilla taste, listened to the mood for the concert perfectly fits into the musical scheme of the blessed sound of the songs from "HGich.T" and so on and so forth.
Against 19:30 Clock we finally picks another colleague in his apartment on the level catapulted through several terrible "HGich.T" - and YouTube video websites in spherical heights and stayed indoors for some time before we moved to the outside, where three girls were waiting , the concert went well again. So we crept through the night and finally got Grevenmacher, after I had once bent almost wrong, to the Café des Sports. Inside, we made our our way through the cafe, sat in the few guests to the back room, where the concert should take place. There were already some people gathered and waited for the start of the concert. Members the two bands scurried around enterprising, and the drummer of "Fights and Fires" had been found to be sellers of the merchandise behind a counter as upright table and offered his wares for sale. There is a rustic, relaxed atmosphere prevailed in the hall, which was to stick to during the evening on.
After we got for the more than modest admission fee of 5 € our entry stamps and first of all the T-shirts, CD's and caps with a black bar on which was emblazoned the logo of "Fights and Fires" censored Justin Bieber (When asked how he got the idea, said the singer to a colleague: "I was drunk") reviewed, It took some time, until the concert began. As time bridging short jumped a colleague of one of the two organizers of the three songs, we settled ourselves on the ground, and produced by his acoustic guitar (with a song had the drummer of "Self Control" and impromptu match on the drums) cozy campfire atmosphere. Then it took too long not before "Self Control" entered the stage at the far end of the room. Meanwhile, this was full and it trickled into more and more people, until the number eventually increased to about 60 participants.
Finally, around about 21:00 clock, started "Self Control" with her performance. The audience swayed, especially in the front rows, enthusiastically to the sounds, and even I, who crossed more often in such musical waters rocked, excited with the head of the stirring songs that offered some great ska-punk and deposits said people in the front row of jolly dancing animated. In a song the audience could participate and eagerly mitgrölen the beery chorus.
For Self Control then went for the first time the older man, who quickly developed into a genuine tourist attraction and the rest of the evening showed up again (he had, as I later found only to the toilet of the café, located in the Concert room was want to go) in appearance. Being in Michael Jackson's "Thriller" dance did not want to be rejected in a way quite fit the music, but still earned hearty laughter and applause.
After a short break took place between this and the next appearance, in which we briefly outside dodging and a little with the singer of "Self Control" were talking before we muffled from inside the breakaway music of "Fights and Fires "and heard the cafe came back.
was in the hall, the concert in full swing, and just when I returned to my regular place shortly before the stage, rushed the singer of the band, who had a non-negligible body weight, even after the front middle of the crowd and was thus the Start signal another Pogo. I was hit unexpectedly by his body mass and lost by the blow to my left shoe. So I hastily rushed to the toilet, pulled my shoelaces, and returned to close, now stable and ready for more such events.
The band was exciting, varied songs (of which I only knew to be stressed "Smoke & Mirrors") at the best and played with fervor and grandiose deposits. The sound was like "Self Control" already well balanced: not too loud and you could hear all the instruments and the powerful, the body requires voluminous voice of the singer's clear. From 2-3 feet away (my regular position) degenerated to the pit the whole not a Soundbrei, but was clearly differentiated.
The proximity of the fans was just breathtaking. The singer was going on not only Pogos, but mixed, for example, even in the midst of the crowd during his vocals (along with another dance performance of the older gentlemen!):
three Crowd surfing, including one with the singer, who according to the estimates of the "fattest man" wanted to be, at any time during this from a lot of a concert was born. Whether it was enough for an entry in the Guinness Book of Records, unfortunately we could not find out, but the audience eagerly helped with the weight of the singer to tackle on.
My friend Patrick was also selected as the crowd surfing - after he had come back not the only one as the guitarist had called for crowd surfing. After he had climbed on the backs of the latter, it was again from the beginning. The result was as follows:
now glittered even the ceiling of the small room of many of the heated, sweaty bodies packed tightly together produced condensation, and the mood surged more up. Constantly broke out Pogo's new, but were always fair - the audience was consistently friendly, courteous and very happy to participate, there was an almost family atmosphere. Also, I let myself be carried away for participating in Pogo, as I was the mood in the room really grips you and the music screw-in pulsing heights.
the end, at 23:00 clock, the band was then an encore as the audience had aufgejault disappointed after the announcement of the singer, they would now sing the last song. The people in the room seemed even more enthusiastic with every once - then died away, the instruments, the music died away and was consistently satisfied and happy faces back. We quickly rushed to the band, ordered T-shirts and were photographed with them and our prey (in the photo you see even more successful as caps and T-shirt designs!):
Prices for the merchandise to the performance quality was really very accommodating - I received for only 10 € a T-shirt and two CDs.
"Fights and Fires" proved to be as we were able to find out after the concert, as fannahe, very friendly, humorous and gregarious band, who spoke at length with us and very pleased showed our enthusiasm for the grand concert. As a nice little bonus, there was pizza Operators, we let ourselves mouth together with the band members and other guests.
We chatted about this and that, before she had to move from there, and said goodbye with handshakes and hugs.
